Lost Sheep Koinonia is not only a website, but an invitation to a new life with God. You don’t have to be religious to be welcomed to this website. You just have to be open to new possibilities. The resources provided are different ways that you can begin, continue, or renew your faith. “Koinonia” (pronounced koy-no-nee-uh) means Christian fellowship or communion, with God or with fellow Christians and is used 20 times in original versions of the Bible. Koinonia is the union of horizontal (community) connections and vertical (God) connections and resembles a cross. Lost Sheep Koinonia is created to reflect the parable that Jesus tells to those who were judging Him for welcoming sinners and eating alongside them.

“Luke 15:1 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Lost Sheep Koinonia is to spread God’s word and call each other by name, not by sin, just as Jesus did. God loves us unconditionally and is waiting for us to choose him. Following Jesus is not always easy or simple, but with Him and others alongside us, we can work toward being welcomed into Heaven on judgement day.
